Neighborhood landmark: The former convent building (known as "Villa St. Rose") has been an important landmark in the Piedmont Neighborhood of North Portland for nearly a century. In the 1990's when the property became vacant and a prime candidate for redevelopment, neighborhood residents were very concerned about what might replace it on this seven-acre site. |
