July 2001: As part of the Rosemont Commons housing project, ANDREWS ARCHITECTS donated our time and skills and joined many other volunteers to assist in the construction of a Habitat for Humanity home. Situated adjacent to the historic Villa St. Rose which was also undergoing renovation, this home was almost completely framed in one day by Habitat volunteers.
In the background, Jim Andrews (green hat) aligns
the top of the walls.
Our summer intern, Heather Beck (the one without
the hardhat), helps to lift one of the first floor exterior
walls into place with the help of other Habitat volunteers.
Nearing the end of a long day, the wall, floor and roof framing is almost complete.
Thanks to Walsh Construction Co. and Tom Walsh & Co. for organizing the work and workers on this terrific effort!
